Summary

This lesson explains why entrepreneurs should not assume that customers will appear simply because a product has been built. It introduces customer discovery and the related ideas of problem/solution fit and product-market fit.

The phrase “if you build it, they will come” captures an appealing but risky idea: that creating a product is enough to attract customers. In entrepreneurship, a product may be technically impressive and still fail if people do not need it, value it, or know how to use it.
