Summary

Organizational culture shapes how people understand their work, make decisions, and treat one another. This lesson explains what culture is, how leaders and everyday practices transmit it, and how a strong ethical culture can support responsible behavior.

Organizational culture is the shared values, meanings, and assumptions that influence how members of an organization perceive situations and act. Culture is not limited to written statements: it is also reflected in what people routinely do, what leaders reward, and what the organization treats as acceptable.
