Summary

Organizations face changing expectations about ethical conduct, employee voice, social responsibility, and risk. This lesson explores forecasts for contemporary ethics and compliance issues and explains how organizations can prepare for them.

The #MeToo movement and public discussion of harassment have increased the influence employees can have when they speak out. A person may report a concern internally or bring it to public attention. Organizations should make internal reporting a credible option by responding promptly, taking reports seriously, and protecting people from retaliation.
