Summary

Family nursing frameworks help nurses organize information about how families function and what influences their health. This lesson introduces three connected perspectives: the socioecological framework, the transactional model, and general systems theory. Together, they help nurses look beyond an individual’s symptoms to consider relationships, communities, institutions, and the ways these parts affect one another.
